Yogasana for Cervical Spondylosis

Cervical spondylosis or cervical osteoarthritis or neck arthritis is a common age-related condition, which is present in more than 85 percent of people over the age of 60.

It develops from wear and tear of the cartilage and bones in the cervical spine, and affects the neck and shoulder joints. Gives pain and Stiffness in neck and shoulder.

Risk factor of Cervical Spondylosis

  • Neck injuries
  • Obesity
  • Work activities that put extra pressure on the neck

  • Being inactive

  • Excessive sitting hours in a particular posture

  • Heavy Weights Lifting

  • Genetic factors

  • Smoking

Regular practice of following yoga practice and pranayama helps to relieve from cervical spondylosis and make neck flexible. But practice of yoga posture should be with caution and care in cervical spondylosis.
